Signe Biering Nielsen

Signe is an executive coach and leadership advisor with 20+ years of international experience. She has been a career diplomat with the Danish Foreign Service and as such has had hands-on experience from working on international decision-making in some of the world’s most challenging work environments – the Middle East, India and China.

Having had extensive experience from management and cross-cultural work within large organizations, Signe develops relationships seamlessly and comprehends institutional and relational complexities in an immediate fashion. Signe has a natural ability to connect with her clients, based on strong curiosity, broad experience, and a deep interest in organizations and people. Her sense of humor is another asset.

Signe Biering Nielsen has advised international top executives from a variety of public and private organizations, from politicians and diplomats to the intelligence service, CEO’s and business owners. Signe has worked and lived in Africa (African Union’s Commission, The Gambia), Asia (India, China), the Middle East (Israel), EU (Brussels) and the UN (New York). In Denmark she has worked with the Danish Foreign Service as well as the Danish Intelligence Service (Copenhagen). Most recently, Signe served as Deputy Ambassador to Israel from 2014-18. In 2018 she returned to Denmark to work as an executive coach and leadership advisor.

She was certified as Systemic Coach (Attractor, Copenhagen) in 2013 and has been coaching clients since then. Alongside her executive coaching practice, Signe studies psychotherapy based on Ken Wilber’s systems theory. She obtained an MA in European Politics and Administration at the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium) in 1996 and an LLM in International Law (Master in Law, Copenhagen, Denmark), 1995.

Signe is married to Karsten Biering Nielsen, also a former diplomat, now heading the Department for Urban Planning in the City of Copenhagen. They have two children and live in Copenhagen.
